2. Schedule an appointment. Save time and make sure that your notary is available when you need them. Secure a time slot at the notary near you to avoid waiting in line. Appointments fill up fast, so reserve your spot as soon as you can.
3. Bring everything you need. When you show up for the appointment, make sure you have everything necessary to notarize the documents. This includes a government-issued ID, the completed documents, and everyone who needs to sign. The notary needs to check a valid ID to confirm the signer’s identity.

Here are some things to keep in mind about IDs:
